I’m a Parsons Green girl and hopelessly devoted to The Hive. No, it’s not a chain. It doesn’t even have a website, imagine that! But it’s an absolute gem.
Situated on The Brown Cow side of Fulham Road it’s an unpretentious little haven of cafe goodness. It’s the ultimate brunch spot, the menu is a delight. I always opt for smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and gourmet avocado mash, which also comes with toast and piles of butter. This isn’t mentioned on the menu because it’s a given. There’s every egg combo you can imagine, and enough full-english options to pacify a hungover rugby team.

And the smoothies! Did I mention the smoothies? I may not ever stray from my Groovy Green favourite (apple, banana, natural yoghurt and spinach) but the choice extends way past that. Best of all once your order’s taken you see your waitress pick the fruit and veg whole from the counter and whizz it up right before your eyes. Fresh to go and then some.
The coffee is sensational, the Italian lunch deli bar a far too tempting, and the pastries out of this world. Ask for the almond croissant warmed up and you’ll never look back.
Find them at The Hive, 670 Fulham Road, SW6 5RX.
