Whenever I went to Dublin I used to stay in the Four Seasons. It was reliably chic and had a great restaurant. Now it has been taken over by another hotel group and it has lost its mojo. So this time I stayed at The Westbury. It is in the centre of Dublin in busy Grafton Street, 2 minutes walk from the lovely Brown Thomas department store.
I arrived in the lounge and it was full of excitement; afternoon tea and cocktails. A friendly and edgy vibe drew me in.
I was shown to my room, which had a beautiful, grand bed, a gorgeous view of Dublin and chocolates, everywhere.
The linen was lovely and the giant bed incredibly cosy.

I met my friend Louis Walsh and we went down to the Brasserie, which had great service and an accessible and delicious menu. You could go comfort food or you could go exquisite, or a mixture of both.
People on other tables told Louis he looked like a Young Louis Walsh. He told them it was the lack of stress; not having to be in X-Factor and spending the summer in Dublin. It made him look younger. The Brasserie is the kind of place where people from other tables join small tables and before you know it the whole restaurant is one big party.

We went to my giant room to watch X factor on the giant TV, we laughed till our faces ached. We gossiped and laughed some more.
Room service brought us coffees and more chocolate. Room service was friendly and handsome…..
I had a lovely sleep despite jet lag and coffee and a great brunch the next day. The staff were friendly, charming, perfect. It was a happy place and flawless.
