With the news of Angelina and Brad’s engagement, and the closing of this year’s Bridal Week in New York City, we’re all in bridal mode at BATD. Accordingly, we’ve rounded up our favourite designs from this season’s couture bridal collections.
Bridal Week often determines the trends for the upcoming wedding season, showcasing couture bridal gowns from wedding institutes like Vera Wang, Marchesa, Jenny Packham, Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera and Badgley Mischka.
This year’s hottest trends included peplums, lace overlays, and embellishments of all assortments. The Kate Middleton craze continued with a number of replicas of the famous McQueen royal wedding gown. Meanwhile, designers like Reem Acra laid the way for a Great Gatsby craze with ’20s-inspired drop-waist dresses.
Perhaps most surprising was the pop of red used in a number of bridal gowns. The colour splashed this season’s runway, with burgundy creations from both Oscar de la Renta and Romona Keveza, as well as an entirely crimson coloured line from Vera Wang.

Now that you’ve seen our picks, which collection is your favourite?
