Rumours swirling about Britain’s top models taking centre stage at the Olympic Closing Ceremony have been confirmed! A tribute to British fashion will see supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Lily Cole and Georgia May Jagger strut down the catwalk to David Bowie Songs ‘Fashion’ and ‘Rebel Rebel.’
The beauties will be flying the flag for UK fashion designers and donning Great British creations from the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
The Closing Ceremony gets even better as the multi-million-pound extravaganza, titled A Symphony of British Music, will see live performances from Queen, Take That, Annie Lennox, George Michael, Jessie J, Ray Davies, Pet Shop Boys and Madness. Russell Brand will also sing a comedy version of the Sex Pistols song ‘Pretty Vacant’ with Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
The Who is scheduled to close the show while ballerina Darcey Bussell along with 300 dancers from the Royal Ballet perform the Spirit of the Flame as the Olympic Flame is put out.
Kim Gavin, who directed the Diana Memorial Concert in 2007 and is the creative director for the ceremony, said: “We want to create a fabulous emotional experience, something people will remember for years.” We think the Closing Ceremony sounds absolutely unforgettable and a show you will surely not want to miss. Only two weeks to go til the Opening Ceremony!
