Saoirse Ronan and Billy Howle star in the film On Chesil Beach, based on Ian McEwan’s novel. They play a young couple in 1962 England who fall in love despite their different backgrounds.
Saoirse plays the role of Florence, a daughter of an upper class family who is constantly under their pressures to fit in their mold. She falls in love with Edward (played by Billy) who is from a working class background. They survive Florence’s family trying to keep them apart, but their next challenge comes at the honeymoon, which is the focus of most of the movie.
Most of the movie seems to focus on their honeymoon as their ideal romance seems to collide with questions of sexual freedom and continued societal pressures.

Watching the trailer, you begin to ask, will their romance even survive the honeymoon?
