Add a little magical light to your home this Christmas with a festively fragranced candle.  There are so many to choose from and they make perfect presents for those people who really do already have everything – no-one can resist a fine-quality candle after all!

Nuit de Noel (French for Christmas Night) by LUMIRA has an indulgent scent which blends the fragrance of  pine trees with amber, tonka and precious woods.  Brandy-soaked fruit notes are enhanced by a festive spice accord; clove, cinnamon and nutmeg rounded out with the warmth of black pepper. Cire Trudon have bought Egypt back to life this Christmas, evoking the spirit of the pyramids in a collection of three outstanding fragranced candles. The three scents take in traditional incense, notes of papyrus and the comforting presence of a candied-firewood. Look out for Gizeh, honouring the timeless pyramids, Amon an ancient Egyptian God and Philae an island found on the River Nile. Tom Daxon is a British fragrance house set up by Tom Daxon in 2013. Sous Les Glycines is his exclusive fragrance for Christmas 2018 and draws on fine florals for it’s seasonal scent. With 40 hours burn time the fragrance combines honeyed white flowers with wisteria, jasmine, rose and bergamot. Available from Tom Daxon, Net-a-Porter, Liberty, RRP £55.

With its top notes of peach, middle notes of lily of the valley and rose, and base notes of patchouli, cedarwood, musk and dry amber, the Don Giovanni candle from Fornasetti Profumo, is a sensual and intensely fragranced candle inspired by the opera of the same name, The candles come in two sizes, the smaller has a monochrome design and the medium candle a red design. Also from Fornasetti Profumo comes the Regalo and Regalo Gold collection of candles. Bearing a ribbon-tied design, the Regalo is a ‘floral tribute to summer’ and is inspired by the gardens of the Fornasetti garden in Milan. Featuring ivy, lily-0f-the-valley, iris, jasmine and tuberose again it comes in two sizes, 300g £140 and £240 for 900g. The Regalo Gold candle gives off a sophisticated mix of mediterranean herbs and incense with its notes of cedarwood, thyme, lavendar and incense. Decorated with Limoges porcelaine bisque, this gorgeous candle has floral, amber and woody scents which truly bring the outdoors inside.
