Set in the summer of 1983, 17-year-old Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet) is spending the days with his family at their 17th-century villa in Lombardy, Italy. Already you know you are in for a treat with the beauty of Italy in the summer as a backdrop for this steamy love affair.
During his stay there in the summer, he meets Oliver (Armie Hammer), a handsom doctoral student who’s working as an intern for Elio’s father. The chemistry between the two is of course unavoidable and the two actors are so good together it is beautiful to watch, this has to be one of the best films of the year so far. We saw it at the London Film Festival and loved it, read the book and see the film!
Overtime, Elio and Oliver discover a awakening desire over the course of a summer that will alter their lives forever.
