If the newly released trailer for The Snowman is any suggestion to how the movie will be, we’re in for a terrifying treat.
Based on the global bestseller by Jo Nesbø, the storyline follows an elite crime squad investigating a missing person on the first snowfall of winter. The mystery leads to the suspicion that a serial killer may be active again, which opens decades-old cold cases that might connect to the brutal new one. With Michael Fassbender as the lead detective and Rebecca Ferguson as a brilliant cop, the movie follows the pair as they attempt to outsmart the murderer before the next snow falls.
Directed by Tomas Alfredson and with Nesbø himself as one of the executive producers of the film, it’s bound to include all the creepy details from the book. And, the movie was shot entirely on location in Norway to ensure the eeriness of winter felt real – which worked because I was sitting on the edge of my seat just during the trailer. Watch below if you enjoy getting totally spooked (but in a good way).
The Snowman will release in UK cinemas the 13th of October.
