Pantone has revealed their colour of the year for 2018 and it’s UltraViolet 18-3838, so we can technically officially start buying anything violet.

Obviously, this is a huge leap from the 2017 colour of the year, Greenery, but Pantone went on to point out that “enigmatic” purples had long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventionality, and artistic brilliance and were favoured by music icons such as Prince, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix.
While that’s true, the colour purple is also royal, luxurious, noble, and with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding next year, it’s only fair to say it’s very fitting.
