October 2, 2015

By Hannah Powling

After rounds in New York, London and Milan, this very hectic fashion month is coming to a close with Paris Fashion Week. Designers and fashionistas of the like will be gathering in the French capital to showcase the SS16 season with its illustrious designers.

Here are some of our highlights from the week so far; of the anticipated finale of the four fashion weeks.

Olivier Rousteing’s Spring/Summer ’16 Balmain debut wasn’t just a runway show, it was an extravaganza. It looks just as spectacular backstage as it did on the catwalk. With models like Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Jourdan Dunn, this is the ultimate #BalmainArmy.

Dries Van Noten

He’s the king of prints; and he can never have too much when it comes to his garments. Dries Van Noten‘s eccentric and beautiful designs included a great take on old-fashioned dress gloves mixed with a tattoo-esque, swirly lace arms that emerged out from beneath blouses and shirts.

ROCHAS

Shimmer is making its debut; and Alessandro Dell’ Acqua wants his Rochas customer to shine bright for spring/summer 2016.

Vionnet

This was the first season that Hussein Chalayan had a hand in creating the ready-to-wear for Vionnet. The collection embraced the house’s traditional signatures of draping, ethereal evening gowns, embracing the contours of the human form, but with Chalayan’s architectural twist.

Talbot Runhof

Talbot Runhof’s print was a geometric dream, with flowing movement to the garments. The notion of comfortable elegance; as described by Runhof pre-show: “The idea was of a woman, the ‘Last Swan,’ throwing on a tunic and a pair of random slippers, before running down to the local market to buy porcini for the family table.”
