From Spanish beauty to Academy Award winner, nothing stops the force that is Penelope Cruz.
Initially gaining critical acclaim in Spanish films Jamón Jamón, La Niña De Tus Ojos and Belle époque. 2001 marked a turning point for Cruz, as she was cast in high-profile Hollywood feature films Vanilla Sky alongside Tom Cruise and Blow, starring Johnny Depp, catapulting her to the dizzying heights of fame.
In 2007, she became the first ever Spanish actress to receive an Academy Award nomination for her role in Volver,
The sultry-star also gained nominations for her supporting role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona at 2009’s Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards and picked up her first Oscar at the Academy Awards in the same year for her role in the Woody Allen film.
Since then, Cruz has appeared in roles for movies such as Nine, Sex and the City 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (her second time working with Johnny Depp, jealous!).
The sex symbol has also modelled work for Ralph Lauren, Mango and L’Oreal and in collaboartion with her sister, Monica Cruz, designed a collection for covetable lingerie company, Agent Provocateur.
