Celeb sisters Penelope and Mónica Cruz have designed a lingerie collection in collaboration with Agent Provocateur. The collection named L’Agent, will be the brand’s first venture into the wholesale market. However this is not the Cruz sisters’ first fashion venture, having launched limited edition collections at Spanish store Mango.
The idea for L’Agent was hatched when Mónica Cruz was cast as the face of Agent Provocateur’s Autumn/Winter 2012-13 campaign, and demonstrated an enthusiasm for design. The collection was created under the supervision of the brand’s creative director, Sarah Shotton, however the sisters have been heavily involved with all aspects of the collaboration. From the design of the labels and hangers to sourcing vintage pieces and fabric swatches for inspiration, the sisters can truly call the line their own.
Penelope said, “It is so exciting for me and Mónica to embark in this new adventure. We have always been huge fans of Agent Provocateur and both of us are very much looking forward to this long term collaboration. We feel extremely happy to become part of this great team.”
In turn, Sarah Shotton has said, “Penelope and Mónica are both long-time lingerie fans and have brought a new design sensibility to the brand. Working with the Cruz sisters was a great opportunity to bring the diffusion line to life and to further strengthen the brand’s relationship with them.” It seems Shotton and the Cruz sisters are getting along swimmingly! As they should with the sisters and Agent P having signed a five year starting contract.
L’Agent, described as “a little younger and perhaps less sophisticated,” will feature 15 separate styles, each complete with bras, corsets, and other lingerie necessities.Unlike Agent P, which only sells via its website or selective stores, L’Agent will be sold through worldwide retailers (possibly including Selfridges, Harrods and John Lewis), and at lower prices.
Still in the early stages of design, fans will have to wait until 1 August 2013 for the collection’s worldwide release, but with bodies like the sister’s have, we can’t think of a better pair of siblings to collaborate with the covetable brand.
