I’ve just flown back from this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. it was flooded with stars and had the usual combination of best dressed and why did you chose that dress moments.

We loved this look on the gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence who was newly brunette for her role in the film The Silver Linings Playbook, she looks elegant in her red strapless Christian Dior Haute Couture gown and Dior black shoes. Compared to her previous look at the 2011 Academy Awards Red Carpet, with her full blonde waves and Jessica Rabbit-esque gown, she looks far more high-fashion with her now pencil-straight brunette locks. Jennifer stars in film with Bradley Cooper, they were both at the festival to promote the film, sadly Mr Cooper was not that chatty with anyone, whilst we are pleased to report Jennifer was super friendly and lovely. The film is a good one, so look out for it when it gets a UK release date, well don’t worry we’ll tell you that!

Emma Watson usually chooses a cool rather than glam look for her red carpet and we liked her sleeveless, floral embroidered dress from Erdem’s pre-spring 2013 collection, for the premiere of her new film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Although more practical than her costar Nina Dobrev‘s flowing gown, which may we add is seriously HOT, she still looks as elegant and stylish as ever.

Another stunner was Keira Knightley who dressed in a heavily embellished, lace Elie Saab Haute Couture gown for the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Anna Karenina. Seemingly the alter-ego to the pure white, rose detailed Chanel dress she wore to the film’s world premiere in London, Knightly proved that she can pull off sexy and gothic, just as well as she can an angelic number.

Sadly, there were almost as many badly dressed stars as there were best dressed. Much to our surprise this included Halle Berry at the premiere of the Tom Hanks film, Cloud Atlas. Typically elegant and at times a little edgy, our jaws dropped in horror at this flared snakeskin suit and sheer blouse monstrosity, that somehow managed to make even the ever-beautiful Halle Berry look just a bit wrong, sorry Halle..

Whilst we like the front of white backless dress that Jada Pinkett-Smith wore to the premiere of the moving documentary, Free Angela & All Political Prisoners. Appearing elegant and simplistic from the front, we initially even liked the low cut back on Jada who is in great shape, until we saw that large, bling-tastic gold hardware zip around her waist, it was just begging to be pulled!

And last, but in no ways least, comes Chinese actress Yao Xingtong who also sported a rather eccentric outfit to the premiere of In Conversation With…Jackie Chan. The flawless Yao was dressed in a flowing lace dress with puffy sleeves, a sheer panel down the front, and erm. . . no bra. This left her chest on show for all to see, and there’s little doubt that Jackie Chan, who posed with her for photos, hadn’t noticed how revealing her outfit was. In an attempt to save her modesty, Jackie gave Yao a stuffed bear to cover her chest. It seems as though Jackie is a hero both on and off the screen.
