I must admit I have never been good with night creams. I remember my mother talking about loving night cream and being very greasy faced. And I remember an interview that Guy Richie gave about Madonna, probably just after they split up, where he talked about how at night she was at night – her face slathered in a mask of thick cream.
It made her sound untouchable.
That said, as it gets more and more wintery skin gets more and more dry and chaffed and the need for smooth, hydrated happy skin increases.
I am a fan in general of Green People, but they surpassed themselves with their Fruitful Nights Night Cream (£15.95). The cream is almost transparent, it absorbs quickly and absolutely into your skin making it feel refreshed and relaxed. There is no thick gloopyness, no thick mask, just a silky face.

The night cream works at night, smoothing away fine lines and smoothing out pigmentation marks. It contains ginger root; ginger is stimulating and increases circulation in both blood and lymph to provide extra nutrients necessary for the skin to repair.
Ginger also flushes out toxins and its extract does something clever by stopping the enzyme that is responsible for destroying collagen. It does not smell of ginger but you can feel a sort of ginger tingliness. It also has in it hibiscus, which has been given the moniker the botox plant. It help reduce sagging skin.
It also contains pineapple which is rich in bromelain, an enzyme which breaks down the protein bonds that hold dead cells on the skin’s surface. So you shed your dead skin at night like a sleeping snake.
What I love best about this cream is its lightweight texture and how it feels like putting on a mask of silk. Green People say they don’t dilute their products so a little goes a long way. I found that I just could not get enough of this cream.
I have also been using it as a refreshing mask in the morning – helps skin feel soft and strong all day.
