REVIEW: Mary Kay Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush

January 15, 2016

Mary Kay‘s best-selling Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush is now available in a vivid limited-edition colour!

Have you tried a cleansing brush yet? I have been converted to religiously using these little wonders within my skin cleansing regime and my skin is SO much better for it now. I wear a lot of makeup so when I thought my face was clean enough; it wasn’t until I saw what was left on the brush that I knew there were still traces of dirt and impurities that I couldn’t see…

There are a variety of cleansing brushes out at the moment but the price tag doesn’t always seem worthwhile.

In search of a cheaper alternative we discovered Mary Kay Cleansing Brush (£35), the perfect addition to your cleansing routine. The electric cleansing brush is pretty similar to other upmarket brands. The difference? Other brushes have a built-in timer to let you know how long your cleansing routine should last and tend to use a charger, whereas Mary Kay uses batteries, which if you wanted to could substitute with a rechargeable set.

The brush itself allows you to choose from two speeds depending on the sensitivity of your skin. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend using the highest setting all the time because it can irritate your skin, especially when the batteries are fully charged and there’s a lot of power.

I like to use the brush to cleanse my face after a long day, alternating between two skin cleansers – La Roche –Posay Cleansing Gel (can be a little drying so best to use once in a while, great for oily skin) and Sanctuary Spa Warming Detox Wash.

When you get your brush you’ll find two brush heads in the pack recommended to last you up to three months. Afterwards you can replace them with a new set of Mary Kay brush heads (£8). The good news is that the total of purchasing the cleansing brush, and additional brush heads, would still only cost you half of what an upmarket brand would – so this is definitely a worthwhile investment to implement into your skincare cleansing routine.

Get yours now from Mary Kay, £35.
