REVIEW: Olaplex Treatment at ColourNation

Insurance for your hair. Sounds like something most of us could do with. This is what they’re calling this new treatment that has arrived to London from the US – Olaplex.

This new treatment promises stronger, healthier hair and longer lasting colour. Remember when Kim Kardashian decided to go white blonde but her hair managed to survive all of the intense bleaching? Well word on the grapevine is that Olaplex was to thank for the amazing condition of her hair – even after going through such stresses such as dying, bleaching, heat and so on..

So what is this magic stuff? Olaplex is a single active ingredient that dramatically helps to eliminate hair breakage, to restore and improve the structure of the hair.

I am one to bleach, heat, you name it – I’ve done it to my hair. It is pretty fine too so my ends really suffer, I have started to hold back on colour and styles I would like to do to my hair purely from fear of having none of it left afterwards! So I was quite intrigued by Olaplex when I heard about it. ColourNation is one of the first salons in the West End to offer this revolutionary hair treatment for £50… so I went along to give it a go for myself.

The treatment is super relaxing, it is put straight on in two steps; so after arriving, and having a little chat with lovely Grant at the salon I got to unwind on their luxurious massage chairs (gone are the days where you have an aching neck after having your hair washed at the hairdressers) while the Olaplex did its magic on my hair.

The photos do the explaining – you can just see how much better my ends look after the Olaplex treatment – and no, I didn’t get a trim. That’s the Oaplex somehow making the ends of my hair great again and non-split. My hair was incredibly soft, and felt stronger.. And it lasted for a good few washes after that too. I can now see what the fuss is about. I couldn’t stop feeling my hair.

I would love to go and get this done each and every week if I could, but unfortunately I don’t have the budget nor the time – but I was told about the Olaplex No.3 at-home Hair Perfector, which is like a booster for in between your salon treatments to help keep the strength of your hair. It is quite small and priced at around £32 but worth it if you want to rejuvenate your damaged hair. You can buy this at ColourNation too.

So go for it and push the boundaries of your hair, don’t feel afraid to go that blonde you’ve always wanted to go – and be confident that you won’t compromise the integrity of your hair – with Olaplex.
