You don’t have to be an avid Snow White fan to enjoy this interpretation of the fantasy world filled with dwarfs, evil queens, and enchanted mirrors, with exciting new characters along with the old favorites. Part sequel, part prequel to Snow White and The Huntsman, the K-Stew-free film tells the story of sibling rivals Ravenna (Charlize Theron) and Freya (Emily Blunt) in their conquering of kingdoms, as well as the love story of last film’s Huntsman, Eric (Chris Hemsworth), and his killer Huntswoman counterpart Sara (Jessica Chastain).
We ended the previous film with Snow White defeating the Evil Queen, and now Eric is sent on a mission by Snow White to hide away the enchanted mirror before it gets into the wrong hands. Chris Hemsworth in a Scottish accent? Yes please. Although there are a few cheesy moments throughout the film, surprisingly all spoken by Hemsworth, these don’t distract from the enticing adventures that viewers are brought along on.
The cast alone is what drew us in to seeing the film, who could say no to Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, and Chris Hemsworth all mashed together in a fantasy world of adventure, cunning battles and witty banter. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the film this past week and we thought it was great. Pulling you right into the journey from beginning to end – this is the perfect film to take your mind off of things and transport you into a fantasy world full of love, hate and laughter all with an amazing cast.
