It was only going to be a matter of time before the saucy songstress was signed up to a fashion collaboration thanks to her fun and totally fearless style, and whilst rumours of a Topshop link-up last year abounded after she was papped having dinner with Topshop owner Sir Philip Green, news of the confirmed pairing between the Barbadian beauty and high-street chain River Island has been welcomed with suitable ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’.
Rihanna Designs for River Island
‘We are thrilled to be collaborating with Rihanna and be the first fashion brand to work with her in this way,’ Ben Lewis, River Island Chief Executive, said in a statement. ‘Rihanna is a style icon, from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we tarted to work together we knew this was a perfect fit. Rihanna will be designing the collection and we will be sharing our fashion experience with her to develop a range her fans will love.’
Sadly it’s going to be a long wait until the line launches next Spring, so until then we’ll have to continue to make do with attempts at recreating RiRi’s inimitable style.
