Having a fungal nail isn’t a pretty sight, and maybe this isn’t something that we would usually chat about with our friends, but it’s a common thing that is easily treatable, too! It’s still the season for our open-toe shoes, sandals, and we want our feet looking luscious right?
So what is Fungal Nail Infection? It is caused by a very common fungus that thrives in warm or damp conditions (and in this humid weather it is no wonder our feet can’t breathe a little sometimes!). It’s closely related to athlete’s foot, which is another very familiar foot concern. Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment fights fungal nail at first sight; stopping the infection in its tracks.
How do you spot it early on? Well, here’s a couple of things to look for:
· Discolouration – look for black, white, yellow or even a green colour on your natural nail bed.
· Thickness, flakiness and brittleness of your nails – the condition of your nails will be a good indication of whether you might have the infection.
· Skin around the nail – if it is red, inflamed or painful, or even scaly and dry.
It really is best to get treatment on your nails early on; as a simple infection to start off with can lead to permanent damage if left untreated and to also stop spread of infection, too..
Here’s some tips on what to do if you think you may have fungal nail infection:
· Give your feet room to breathe! Whenever you can, get your feet out of those stuffy shoes.
· Don’t paint over the cracks.. As tempting as it may be to just ignore and cover up the problem, this can actually make it worse.
· Be clean with your tools. Use separate clippers/files for infected nails and sterilize by cleaning them thoroughly between each use.
· Get some Scholl in your life, and quickly!

Scholl has a two-step process to file the nail and apply treatment regularly and hygienically to treat the infection.
It includes hygienic disposable files to remove the top layers of the nail, which firstly helps to visibly improve the appearance, plus a liquid formula to prevent the fungus from growing. Filing is best done once a week, whilst applying the treatment should be done daily, for 4 weeks, followed by a weekly top up until the damaged nail has completely grown out (can take up to 9-12 months)
So stop ignoring it, shake off any embarrassment on something that is actually very common – and go get your hands on some Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment, £19.40 from Boots stores… and look after your tootsies!
