Pop star, film star and the most followed Instagram star, Selena Gomez opens up with Vogue Australia about how her private life has taken center stage in the media.
Although everyone wants to know what Selena gets up to in her personal life, Gomez says that for her, it’s career that takes first priority. “You want to do what you love but all this other stuff overshadows it so it makes it a little harder for people to take me seriously,” Gomez tells Vogue.
The talented 24-year-old has had a busy year touring the world to perform her second album, Revival, which was released in 2015. As far as her acting career, Selena has added to her list of credits with the Oscar-winning film The Big Short and Netflix original The Fundamentals of Caring.
With so much work to do, Selena says she actually doesn’t have much time for dating at the moment. Like any other 20-something, Selena says she likes to hang out and have fun, but with her level of fame, she wonders who would be ready for a public relationship. Gomez says, “Nobody would want to throw themselves into that situation where it was so heightened publicly, like, why would they?”
