As much as we hate to see summer come to a close, there is much to look forward to at this time of year. In the fashion world, January is not the start of a new year, September is. Fashion week is just around the corner and this is the time that our favourite fashion magazines release their biggest, most anticipated issues of the year – the September issues. With the coolest stars and supermodels gracing their glossy covers, September issues have long been seen as the number one source to find what will be the next best thing.
Here’s a look at the international cover stars that are hitting newsstands this month:
Vogue
There are 23 different nations and regions that publish Vogue Magazine every month. Editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour, is known for making controversial statements with her September covers. In 1989, Wintour shocked Vogue executives when she picked Naomi Campbell as cover star. Campbell was the first black women chosen for a Vogue September issue. This September, Wintour surprised people again by choosing reality TV star turned supermodel, Kendall Jenner to cover American Vogue. Jenner was named “the breakout model of her generation”. Sitting down Vogue, Jenner opened up about her father’s transition and the joys and struggles of her modelling career.
Cara Delevingne shot her fifth cover for British Vogue as she posed for this September’s issue. Delevingne has taken a break from her super model career and started to focus on acting, recently staring as a super villain in the summer blockbuster, Suicide Squad.
Vogue Paris has two cover stars – Taylor Hill and Bella Hadid.
