Serpentine Summer Party 2012

June 27, 2012

Last night, despite the threat of rain, an eclectic mix of London’s hottest, brightest and most celebrated stars made their way to the annual Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in Kensington Gardens.

Mary Charteris, Laura Bailey, Holly Valance

One of the hottest tickets of the summer, guests were appropriately attired for the occasion, with a heavy focus on this season’s molten metallic trend. Hot model and DJ of the moment, Mary Charteris, shimmered in a gold and silver striped sequin mini dress, accessorised with heavy black platform boots and clutch. Model Laura Bailey was, as always, the epitome of elegance and understated glamour, dressed in a gold brocade peplum dress with hair swept back into a simple chignon and flawless make up. Singer Holly Valance – who arrived with fiance Nick Candy,  gleamed in a skintight golden-starred sequin dress.

Jade Williams, Amber Le Bon, Cara Delevigne

Despite it being a balmy summer night, understated monochrome and semi-sheer textures were also popular choices at the fundraiser, with both Jade Williams, aka singer Sunday Girl, and Burberry beauty Cara Delevigne opting for elegant, ruffled black dresses. Whilst Amber Le Bon, daughter of  model Yasmin and Duran Duran singer Simon, wore a beautiful transparent sea green dress.

This year’s summer pavilion at London’s Serpentine Gallery is the collaborative work of Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron and Chinese artist Ai Weiwei.
