For their February box, we’re being reminded that frankly, anything sparkly and shiny are our best friends. There’s a little bit of exciting news for Birchbox this month as they launch their brand new in-house beauty line Love Of Color (that’s LOC for short), and we get to try a sample of the first product…
WHAT’S INSIDE
The first thing that caught my eye and gave me a little bit of an excitement squeal was the Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush. If you’re a total Instagram makeup follower you might be familiar with this brand for their beautiful mermaidy-coloured makeup brushes that seem to be appearing in all of the tutorials and you can’t miss them. Well the quality of the brushes are as lovely as they look – and I’m very excited to start using this one at home. The perfect size for a cheek-y bit of contouring (get it?)
I am a big fan of incorporating Vitamin C into my skincare; and the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster gets this good stuff into your skin to give a bright complexion.
Talking of Vitamins, the Ayres Body Butter in Patagonia is brimming with it alongside shea butter to give massive hydration to dry skin; plus the scent is serene with the added jasmine, lavender and ylang-ylang.
A good colour to put into your travel makeup bag would be the cute little theBalm Cosmetics Frat Boy Blush/Shadow as it is the perfect matte rose shade to go with most skin tones; or add a pop of pink to your eyes. It is super small, practical to carry with you for a top-up.
For a little more practicality there is an L. Erikson Ponytail Holder hairband in there too so you’re not caught short if you want to just whip your hair off your face, or if you’re going to the gym.
Last but not least, the LOC One and Done Shadow Stick in Perfect Cents is Birchbox’s first in-house makeup product to give glittering pigment, easily swept over your eyes to put a little twinkle into your look. They promise creaseless and waterproof colour – with a soft product that is strong in coverage. I love it – here’s how it looks:
