Kyla La Grange broke onto the music scene in 2012 with Ashes, her first ever album after moving to London to pursue music.. It was a strummy, anthemic selection of folk-pop with a dark side, showcasing the singer’s breathy vocals and songwriting prowess (all but one tracks on the album were written by La Grange). Now in 2014, La Grage’s style has evolved from folk-pop songstress to colorful synthpop vixen as shown on her latest album release, Cut Your Teeth.
Cut Your Teeth features a more electronic vibe than the songs featured on Ashes, with producer and DJ Jakwob pitching in to help La Grange transition her sound. The result is ethereal, electronic and infectious. Since the release of Cut Your Teeth, La Grange has opened for Bastille at the Somerset House, and released five trippy music videos to accompany tracks from the new album. Check out the quirky neon and glitter-filled video for the title track, Cut Your Teeth!

La Grange was born in Watford to a Zimbabwean father and South African mother. She studied philosophy at Cambridge University from 2004 to 2007.
La Grange has drawn comparison to other artists like Joni Mitchell, Cat Power and fellow eccentric Brit singer Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine.
In May 2014, La Grange released a haunting cover of Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus, another artist who crossed over musical genres across the years. Alas, there’s no naked wrecking ball riding here, just pure vocals and an interesting take on the infectious pop song. Give it a listen below!
