This miniature poodle can’t stay awake for long at all; Skeeter has narcolepsy that is triggered by excitement. In narcolepsy, instead of going from light sleep to medium sleep to REM sleep, Skeeter goes straight to the deep REM state when experiencing excitement. Any form of excitement causes poor Skeeter to fall into an overtaking sleep: walks, food, and an invitation to join his master on the couch are too much for Skeeter to handle.
