I had been looking with lust at a friend`s lip colour for some time. The colour was called Los Angeles and it was just the most perfect kissed pink with a golden sheen.
Then I found out it was so much more!
It is called Jane Iredale Sugar & Butter Lip Exfoliator and Plumper (£19.95) one end is a brown sugar exfoliator and the other colour side, the plumper, feels as if it is made of butter. The simple act of applying this lip colour is like kissing yourself.
First of all comes the tingling excitement of the sugar scrub which fills you with an inner afterglow, and then comes a great butter hug, right on the lips where it counts. I have become addicted to it, which made me curious about the Jane Iredale brand.
The company started in 1994 working on mineral make up, which is totally natural and of course not tested on animals. Jane Iredale was a former casting director who was used to working with the demands of actresses who want their face and skin to look as best as possible.

Iredale saw the need for make up that would offer not just colour but also benefit the skin and which would also mask imperfections and not cause irritation. Considerably impressed, I ordered the Jane Iredale Starter Kit (£31.16), which comes in five shades. I was light medium.
There is a really beautiful feeling that sets in when you apply smooth affair primer and brightener, which enhances the look and durability of make-up. It evens out skin tone and increases luminosity. I loved this primer. Afterwards with a rather small brush you apply the amazing base or pure-pressed base. The first for a luminous look the second for semi-matte.
The effect is nice but the brush is tiny and it takes time to do it properly. After this comes a wonderful spray, the hydration spray, filled with anti-aging botanicals.
The spray livens up your skin and spirit. Perfect after a tiring day at work or an annoying early start, and even better for the plane as the starter kit is tiny and can fit into the most compact of hand luggage.
