Chanel’s hotly-anticipated Covent Garden pop up beauty boutique is set to open to the public tomorrow, but this afternoon Beauty and the Dirt were lucky enough to take a sneak peek – and a couple of snapshots – and needless to say, those interlocking C’s are looking as covetable as ever.
The perfectly placed Chanel nail lacquers, lipsticks and glosses on display are a veritable feast for the eyes (and the lips, and the nails). Whilst the oversized and colour changing C’s make for a chic backdrop to the manicure and make up stations.
The delightful nail artist, Marian Newman – who was suitably lacquered in the soon-to-be-launched nail shade, Frenzy – was on hand, re-creating the ‘framed’ manicure as seen at the Chanel show, whilst make up artists Mary Greenwell and Kay Montano were busy working their magic on models using the latest summer shades.
Overlook the somewhat scary looking security guards, and the Chanel boutique looks just about as Paris-meets-London as you can get.
We were enchanted by this Chanel mime artist, as much for her poise and Vogue-esque poses as for her blazing red hair and matching perfectly-painted lips, that we almost overlooked the line up of London cabs, that had been made-over in Chanel shades.
And I almost forgot to mention the appearance of quintessentially English model and writer, Laura Bailey, who looked as fresh-faced and glowing as ever.
If this doesn’t whet your appetite for tomorrow’s launch, nothing will.
