We have been keeping you up to date on the latest spring fashion trends, from jackets to sunglasses, swimsuits to overall style, and now we’ve broken down the top spring trends of everyone’s favourite add-on, handbags.
The Bucket Bag

Bucket bags have been everywhere lately, gaining such a celebrity following that we just had to find the best bucket bags for the upcoming season. A brand favorite amongst celebs has definitely been Rebecca Minkoff, and we love here modern twist on the classic straw beach bag, complete with chic leather stripes. Want a crisp and classic option? J. Crew has you covered with their sleek tan bucket bag, easy to match with just about any spring ensemble. If pastels and spring are inseparable for you, Ted Baker has a lovely lilac bucket bag with gorgeous rose gold detailing that’s a playful option for the upbeat season.
The Fringe Bag

Coachella fashions had us feeling some sort of way, and we just could not wait to interpret the classic festival fringe for ourselves. For the ultimate desert chic look, Diane Von Furstenberg‘s boho suede bucket bag has just enough festival flare without being over the top. A more chic and refined fringe option comes from L’Autre Chose, whose color block crossbody has us drooling. Want the colorful brights of spring but don’t want to be too over the top? Get the best of both worlds with this structured yet playful bag from Chloe, complete with rainbow fringe tassels. Of course, we couldn’t mention fringe bags without the fringe master, Rebecca Minkoff. Her M.A.C. (standing for Morning After Clutch) fringe bags made her a fashion fave, and we love her muted pastel M.A.C. for the spring.
The Rucksack

Rucksacks are not just for school anymore. The refined rucksack has become the smart looking yet practical bag of spring that we’ve been looking for, and all with the added bonus of having your hands free. First is this gorgeous rag & bone bag in a baby blue, the perfect pastel for spring and summer. If you want a more monochromatic yet chic look, Michael Kors has you covered with their leather rucksack, complete with gold zipper detailing. Want a muted yet still springy option? Topshop‘s textured backpack in a luxe pebble gray is just the understated bag you need. Last but not least is the classic structured rucksack from Cambridge Satchel in a gorgeous camel color, a perfect pairing to any spring outfit.
The Embroidered Mini

With the weight of winter finally lifted, the last thing we want it to lug around a heavy bag. We have the perfect solution for you in the way of an embroidered mini handbag. Nothing says spring and summer quite like flowers, and what’s better than putting those floral patterns into your accessories? Embroidered flowers in particular have been all the rage from runways to music festivals (we’re looking at you Coachella), and now it’s time to try the trend ourselves. If you want a simple crossbody, we love this petite leather bag from Topshop, perfect for days out at the market. Want to copy that festival style? ASOS has a funky but not overly aggressive suede duffle bag that combines multiple of spring’s top bag trends – fringe, bucket bags, and embroidery. If spring for you means gardens and refinement, Star Mela has a lovely floral clutch fit for a garden party.
So wherever you’re headed this spring, be it a music festival or a shopping day at an outdoor market, step into the season with some trendy handbags by your side, what could go wrong?
