This rather delectable, American actor first caught our eye as the fullback football player in the 2004 film Friday Night Lights. With his upcoming lead role in On The Road, a film based on Jack Kerouac’s famous novel by the same name, we thought it time we delve a little deeper.
Garrett Hedlund was raised on a remote beef cattle farm in Minnesota. Somewhat unsurprisingly, before pursuing a career in acting, the 27-year-old, 6’2” Hollywood hunk dabbled in a spot of modelling, but age 14 he was discovered at a ProScout event and after high school, Hedlund headed for the LA hills to pursue his acting career.

Just one month acting landing in LA, he bagged a spot alongside Brad Pitt, playing Achilles’ cousin Patroclus in the epic blockbuster Troy. He went on to star as a high school football player in Friday Night Lights, where he played Tim McGraw‘s son, a particularly privileged role for Hedlund who grew up listening to the country artist. He has also made appearances in the movies, Country Strong, Eragon, Four Brothers and Tron: Legacy.
Sadly for us, Garrett is rumoured to be dating Kirsten Dunst – some ladies just get all the luck – but nevertheless there’s nothing to stop us looking and as such we can’t wait for the autumn launch of On The Road, for some feature-film-length viewing of him.
