Still riding the wave of 2012 and her newly acquired OBE, Stella McCartney would be forgiven for taking some time out this year. Instead, the fashion designer is starting 2013 on a high, with the launch of her new eyewear range next month.
Already offering customers designer sunglasses, McCartney explains her move into optical frames to WWD saying,
“Optical is more and more part of fashion. If you actually take a moment to look around, you are surrounded by optical both as a necessity and a statement. It is exciting because it says something new, all ages express themselves through optical,”
The collection features five styles in a neutral, warm palette including black, teal, burgundy and taupe shades, and as expected, holds true to her ‘green’ approach to fashion, using the same renewable bio-acetate material that creates her current sunglasses range.
