Stella McCartney has always been a favourite amongst celebrities. Pals include Madonna, Gwenyth Paltrow and Kate Moss. And the designer continues to recruit, with the likes of Liv Tyler and Charlize Theron joining the throng of A list devotees. Her SS14 show fell on day five of Paris fahsion week, and it seemed that McCartney had extended her golden touch to the latest model elite with Cara Delevingne and Joan Smalls parading her designs down the runway.
The show was the usual Stella McCartney success (despite it being held up by her dear old papa arriving late! Tut tut Paul). The collection boasted an array of lace and sheer fabrics which contrasted smartly with the strong lines and silhouettes that the label is renowned for. Lace dresses mixed the pretty with the sporty with sweeping deep Vs and cut out racer backs.Who better then to parade these bold designs down the catwalk than Miss Brit-Attitude herself, Cara Delevingne as well as Kerr and Smalls, whose physical strength and athleticism is apparent in their past Victoria’s Secret show appearances.
No girl can walk the Victoria’s Secret show without having the strength to commit their mind and body to fitness for a considerable amount time period. All three pack a serious punch in the ‘strong women’ stakes, and were amongst the most obvious choices, we suspect, when Stella came to selecting her girls.
