Suitably named ‘The Impressionist’ – Stila unleashes their new Spring collection upon us; taking inspiration from the revolutionary art movement, known best for its dramatic play on light and vivid colour. We’re fans of Stila here so we were eager to see what this collection had in store…
Emerging from a bleak winter makes us all long for a fresh-illuminated face as Spring arrives. Healthy radiant and glowing skin is making its mark for many of the makeup trends in SS16, Stila’s collection is bang on to achieve that bright and radiant skin we crave.
Stila have been concentrating on feather-light textures and translucent sweeps of colour to perfect your look, with some exciting new products:
Aqua Glow Serum Foundation (£34.50) a water-based foundation with multi-reflective pigments to reflect light, with a lightweight texture ** see below what we thought of this.
Aqua Glow Serum Concealer (£19) a water-based, buildable concealer that blends into the skin for a completely natural-looking, nearly-invisible coverage.
Convertible Colour Dual Lip & Cheek Palettes (£29) two-in-one lipstick and blush palettes with both warm and cool flower inspired options to choose from: Sunrise Splendor and Sunset Serenade.
Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (£16) with five new spring shades from deep raspberry to a neutral nude. We’ve put their liquid lipsticks to the test and we were fully impressed with their staying power and lightweight, comfortable velvet texture. Love them.
We tried out their Aqua Glow Serum Foundation, because we were curious how that formula would look on our skin, a serum foundation, how does that work? The water-based solution instantly rubs in for a clean and flawless coverage; it is soft to the touch and the coverage and colour is buildable. The finish is lovely and glowy, and makes your skin look hydrated and gives you a youthful glow, even when you are well past your ‘youthful’ glow years, so we give this a big A+. Love how this feels and looks on our face, going straight in the make up bag.
This would be the perfect option for someone that doesn’t like too much coverage, but wants flawless skin. We recommend this one.
