Stop! That! Train! is such a fun movie. I went into it looking for pure entertainment, and it delivered exactly that. It is a wildly funny, high-energy ride that had me genuinely laughing out loud from start to finish. If you just want a comedy that is just pure silliness and fun, where you can totally switch off this is the one for you. Everyone in the screening I went to was laughing out loud throughout the film, a great sign when you can make the critics laugh. The cast was all in and the dead pan delivery of the most ridiculous lines was perfect, this one will become a classic.
What’s the story?
The film follows best friends and coach-class train stewardesses Tess and DeeDee as they trade their dreary shifts on the “Stank Rail” for a job on the ultra-luxurious high-speed railway, the Glamazonian Express. However, their dream job quickly turns into a chaotic nightmare when a catastrophic weather event dubbed the “Stormaganza” threatens to derail the runaway train and crash it directly into Los Angeles. To save the day, the down-to-earth duo must put aside their differences and team up with the train’s snobby, elitist first-class attendants and the President of the United States.
With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 84% this uber camp comedy is exactly what you would expect from Rupaul and a stellar cast of hilarious drag queens. Look out for a few fun cameos too.
