Not only is she one of the world’s most renowned (and beautiful) supermodels, Natalia Vodianova is also one of the most philanthropic.
Yesterday, the supermodel proved she’s as fit as she is gorgeous, (although she’s already gone a long way to prove that by running the Paris half marathon last year during Paris Fashion Week) by carrying the Paralympic torch around London after which she posted on her Facebook page, “Sport doesn’t care who you are. Everyone can take part. Go Paralympians!”
Having herself been catapulted, thanks to being spotted as a teen, out of a disadvantaged background, the supermodel and mother of 3 is totally dedicated to giving back to her community. Back in 2004 she set up the Naked Heart Foundation, in order to improve the lives of Russian children namely by building playgrounds in her native Russia, and so following her torch relay she popped into Russian Knightsbridge restaurant Mari Vanna to launch a new, delicious, addition to the menu; The Naked Heard Dessert. The indulgent dessert will donate 100% of its profits to The Naked Heart Foundation.
Natalia said, “I think play is the best therapy for children. When I was a child, it was only when I played that I was happy and could forget about the realities of life.”
We can’t think of a better way to indulge, totally guilt-free – and then maybe we’ll continue to follow Natalia’s lead and burn off the extra calories with a run!
