The sun has finally begun to peak out of the London clouds here and there, and with spring in full swing we are getting quite jittery for the days where we can sunbathe in our gardens (with SPF on of course). With all of this in mind, we put together some of the best suits and styles for the upcoming season, as well as the best places to buy them.
The Color Block Classic
Triangl Swimwear has been a Tumblr favorite since its release just a few years back. Known for their bright color blocking, neoprene fabric and structured cups, Triangl is quickly becoming one of our favorite swimwear brands. Their newest venture is combining their classic black lining with crochet stitching to create the Farrah, Brigitte, and Gigi suits, and we could not be more obsessed. Looking for a more classic Triangl style? The Dolly is a lively option to brighten up any beach day. All of these styles are available online here.
The Tropical Tycoon
Patterns and swimwear go hand in hand when you’re talking about one of the most prominent swimsuit designers of today, Mara Hoffman. Known for her gorgeous prints, bright colors, and experimental styles, if you want to stand out on the beach while simultaneously making every other girl feel jealous of your amazing suit, this brand is for you. The cross front halter style has been all over runways and celebrity Instagrams alike, and we love this bright floral one piece. Still on the cross front trend, this geometric print bikini is vibrant and has a slight bit of edge as well. Want a real showstopper? Look no further than this stunning star-centered one piece with stand out zig zags and cut outs that will accentuate your waist and make you and the suit the center of attention. Lastly, this bohemian beach masterpiece brings bikini art to a whole new level by making statement jewelry into a swimming print that has just as much dazzle with none of the weight, we love. All these suits are available here.
The One Stop Shop
B London Boutique has been blowing up on our Instagram feeds with its sassy photos and amazing swimsuit pictures, so we just had to take a look at what styles they’ve been highlighting on their site. Palm leaf print seems to be popping up everywhere, and swimsuits are no exception. This killer front twist suit gives just enough front coverage of a one piece while still showing enough skin to get a tan. Another bold option with an additional sexy appeal is from the brand Beach Bunny, with its lace detailing bringing a bit of a lingerie feel to the bikini. Looking for sleek and sultry suit? Unassuming in the front, this black one piece from Cantik has no back, low sides, and a high rise fit that would make Baywatch proud. We couldn’t make a swimsuit guide without including a little white bikini. This one with gold detailing from Vix looks effortless and and crisp, and will be perfect with a summer tan. These suits as well as much more can be found on the B London Boutique site here.
The Curve Concealer
Tired of falling out of those flimsy bikinis? Known for their lingerie, Freya has plenty of knowledge on the female figure, especially the fuller busted ladies. They have taken this knowledge and applied it to the structuring of their own swimwear range, so you know you can trust them. The styles of the suits are also applaudable, seeing as many curvy gals are left with mom-like suits. Our favorites are the modern color block bandeau, the retro polka dot halter top, and the futuristic high neck top that keep the ladies in while still looking like a lady as well. We are impressed. You can get Freya tops as well as their bottoms here.
The Boho Basics
Savvy swimsuit shoppers should look no further, because Urban Outfitters has the latest trends with their signature boho flair that’ll have you looking like an Instagram star the next time you pop out for a swim . The ultimate bohemian texture, this red and cream crochet bikini from Somedays Lovin’ will be sending off serious Cali vibes. Black one pieces never looked better with the plunge swimsuit from Urban’s own label. A hard deep neckline and a high-waisted bottom proves this style to be very flattering for a variety of body types, score! Patterns more your style? Not only does this Moroccan print swimsuit offer a bright and bold retro graphic, but the high neck line protects some of your most sunburn-prone skin, and super on trend. With the 90’s revival still in full force, Calvin Klein is still leading the pack with stars like Kendall Jenner and Justin Bieber at the head of their My Calvin’s campaign. Swimwear is yet another apparel branch that the brand is bringing their signature logo and sleek style in a modern yet retro range, with our favorite being the black high neck sporty style suit.
The Shape Shifters
Who said one pieces have to be basic? This past year there has been a huge rise in the popularity of the one piece swimsuit, and we could not be more excited about it. Not only have these swimming costumes been brought into the modern age when it comes to colors and shapes, but the styles and patterns of the suits are trendy enough to be worn as just tops, and just in time for festival season. Go Hollywood glam with Huit’s Golden Girl swimsuit, complete with chic corset top and iridescent fabric that’ll have you looking like one of the stars every time you step out into the sun. Can’t get enough of the marble trend? Cantik Swimwear has this sleek, modern one piece with an 80’s fit, complete with deep cut out back and mesh panel detailing that looks great on its own or as a body suit to a killer pair of high-waisted black trousers. Palm tree print is one of our favorite swimsuits styles, and Cantik once again nails it with a printed one piece that brings us straight into the tropics. Whip out the sunhat and slather on the SPF, because this strappy number from Huit is worth the awkward tan lines. Vibrant and slimming, solid colors like this bold grape purple are a great change up from the classic black suits, and with the added strappy detailing, you found your next go-to swimming outfit.
Whether it’s risking it all in a daring bikini, keeping it classy in a refined one piece, or experimenting with shapes (and quite possibly tan lines), we hope these suits give you some major swimwear inspiration, as well as get you excited for summer!
