Cara Delevingne and Karl Lagerfeld walk hand-in-hand after the Chanel Metiers d’Art show.
Between yesterday’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and the Chanel Metiers d’Art pre-fall show, it feels as though Christmas has come early. Karl Lagerfeld chose to showcase his latest pre-fall “Paris-Salzburg” collection for Chanel in Salzburg, Austria, a city near and dear to Gabrielle Chanel’s heart. Her inspiration for the iconic Chanel jacket came from a trip to Austria, on which Gabrielle admired the Mittersill hotel’s lift operator’s jacket. A new twist on the story served as the storyline for Lagerfeld’s short film for Chanel, “Reincarnation,” which made its debut in full at the show. Starring Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne, the duo perform a stunning duet, as well as a ballroom dance.
“Reincarnation”
Models Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner modeled the brand new collection which guest Lily Allen described best; “warm, cozy, – and chic.” Mixed in with edgy twists on the traditional Chanel suit were thick wools, floral embroidery, and even a pretzel-shaped brooch. As Karl Lagerfeld put it, “You look at Chanel in the Twenties and Thirties and there was nothing like this.” Something tells us Gabrielle would’ve approved.
