The Pride

August 12, 2013

It’s nothing revolutionary that for many of us fear being judged, and often hide our true selves (especially in certain circumstances) to avoid the worry. But thanks to Jamie Lloyd and the London Revival cast, The Pride offers us a new perspective on self-discovery.

The Pride

Starring Hayley Atwell, Harry Hadden-Paton, Al Weaver, and Mathew Horne, the Olivier Award-winning play makes us question our overwhelming hesitation to stand up for the core of our being.

For over half a century, Philip, Oliver and Sylvia have been involved in a complex love triangle intertwined with a complex and constantly-changing view of homosexuality.

As the characters’ worlds finally come together only to slowly veer apart, it becomes clear the the promise of sexual freedom is not really a promise at all – it’s more of an elusive liberation stuck in limbo.

Alexi Kaye Campbell’s, The Pride, manages to put a heart-felt – yet hilarious – spin on the lonely and confusing path we all must take to find ourselves. With the support of each other, this play landmarks the courage of three like-minded characters, and role-models to us all.

The Pride, runs from 12 August – 9 November, from £15 tickets are available on www.atgtickets.com.
