Fashion designer Tom Ford will make a debut-return to the directors chair for the first time since 2009’s A Single Man, with a forthcoming new thriller; Nocturnal Animals.
Focus Features has revealed that actress Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal are circling as the lead roles while insiders also claim that Joaquin Phoenix and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are also being sought for leading roles.
To top off the star-studded cast list; Armie Hammer is revealed to have joined the cast, fresh off of his latest film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. – will be playing Amy Adams‘ husband in the new movie.
Nocturnal Animals is based on the Austin Wright novel ‘Tony and Susan’, which follows the story of an art gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband’s novel manuscript, a violent thriller that she has in fact interpreted as a disguised threat and symbolic story of revenge. A family vacation turns violent as Susan finds herself recalling her first marriage and confronting some dark truths about herself…
“Tom’s vision for his film is unique and inspiring and something that global audiences will be thrilled by,” Focus CEO Peter Schlessel said. “Tom has proven his prowess as a filmmaker and this romantic tale of revenge and regret will be a fantastic addition to our slate.”
Nocturnal Animals is expected to hit the cinemas next year…watch this space.
