Any Birmingham based readers out there? If so, you’re in luck because Tom’s Kitchen is now coming to Birmingham’s The Mailbox.
Chef Tom Aikens is serving up the best seasonal and ethically sources ingredients and he’s bringing his yummy dishes to the Brum.
For starters, he will be serving up Spicy Crab Cake with tomato and cucumber salsa, Truffled Mac & Cheese and Steak tartare. For his mains he’ll be offering up quintessentially British, Fish and Chips with crushed peas, tartare sauce and lemon, Poached Monkfish with escabeche, saffron sauce and herb crust, as well as dishes from the grill: Tom’s Kitchen Burger with smoked Applewood cheddar, bacon and gherkins, 650g Angus Cross Chateaubriand steak or his Cornish Lemon Sole, served with caper and parsley sauce. His desserts include: Sticky Toffee Pudding, with date and vanilla ice cream, Plum Bakewell Tart and Chocolate & Peanut Butter Fondant.
But he’s not just bringing his London menu to Birmingham, instead he has added a couple of specialties to the menu, including: Spiced Pumpkin with burrata, savoury granola, hazelnut dressing and rocket and Prawn Tagliatelle with red peppers, basil and black olives.
If you’re not feeling too peckish, don’t worry, you can pop into their bar for a couple of drinks.
