Summer is fast approaching and with it comes all the fun in the sun, and the last thing you want is heavy hair to weigh you down. Not to worry, we have gathered some of the top hair trends for the summer from celebs, experts, and of course the ultimate summer style inspiration, Coachella. Check them out!
Braids and Buns
Getting your hair out of your face is one of the most refreshing things to do for it during the summer months, and this season braids and buns are the trendiest way to do it. If you’re looking to get everything out of your face, tying your hair up into two messy top knots like Kendall Jenner has done will leave you with a super cute, easy-going look. Want to keep some of your hair down? Shay Mitchell and her friend used braids not only as a way to pull back their locks, but to part their hair as well. We love the blonde’s faux-hawk braid into a bun, such a cool way to incorporate both trends. And what’s trend forecasting without the help of social media phenomenon Kylie Jenner. She went for a classic double french braid, but of course added her own touch, this time with pastel colored hair.
Muted Pastels
Rainbow colored hair as been all over for the past couple of season, but this summer there’s been a new twist, muted tones. Modeled beautifully in a gray-lilac tone by Hailey Baldwin, this color is a killer twist on grannie chic. One of the originators of the rainbow hair trend, Kesha, added to her baby pink locks with a lovely turquoise and dark blue ombre. Normal colored hair is “so yesterday” for singer and actress Hilary Duff, who rocks a muted purpley-pink shade that’s blended in with her ashy blonde perfectly.
Icy Blondes
If you haven’t heard of Riawna Capri (photo on the right), you need to tune into this celeb hairstylists Instagram ASAP. Not only did she have a traveling beauty bus at Coachella, but she boasts clients such as Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Emma Roberts and Julianne Hough. She was the one to give those gorgeous festival braids an classic beach waves to countless celebs, and to officially declare icy blondes as the hair color for this summer. Jennifer Lawrence has Capri to thank for her icy locks, which just premiered on the red carpet this past week. Another pop culture icon who brightened her look for what she deemed “Bleachella” was superstar Taylor Swift, although she couldn’t quite shake off her classic red lip. Last but not least is Capri herself, whose cool and bright locks give more realistic #hairgoals for us mere mortals.
We have already been experimenting with these trends ourselves, and now we’re just waiting for the hot weather to come and match our hot hairstyles.
