In this kooky comedy, Johnny Depp plays Barnabas Collins, a 200-year-old vampire who finds himself in the 1970s.
After a jealous witch (Eva Green) casts a spell on Barnabas, the then-youthful lady’s man is condemned to be buried as a vampire for eternity. That is until his coffin is unearthed.
Barnabas awakens to find himself in the year 1972, his ancient manor now occupied by a host of dysfunctional descendants, including Chloe Moretz, Michelle Pfeiffer, and the family psychiatrist, Helena Bonham Carter.
In a time when VW buses and lava lamps run rampant, Barnabas must protect his distant cousins from something even more disturbing than those decade tie-dye prints, for the evil witch has also returned and this time with a vengeance.
Directed by Tim Burton, Dark Shadows is based on the 1960s gothic soap opera of the same name. The 2012 adaptation is released in the UK 11 May 2012. I loved this film, so funny, my favourite Tim Burton film yet!
