After being chased by a group of Apache Indians during the American Civil War, army verteran John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) takes shelter in a vacated cave. When Carter wakes up, he finds himself on the planet Barsoom, a nearly inhospitable world filled with gigantic inhabitants. Natural resources like water have been depleted, and the barbaric people of Barsoom quickly take Carter as a prisoner. After discovering a princess in need of saviour, he soon finds himself at the center of Barsoom’s battle.
The live action feature is written and directed by Pixar icon Andrew Stanton, who brought us favourites Finding Nemo and Wall-E. Recommended for fans of Avatar, John Carter promises to pack a punch.
