The chilly winter weather is the perfect excuse to cozy up with a new favourite cocktail (or three!). Cantina del Ponte, a charming Italian restaurant near London Bridge, is introducing Trattoria di Pococello in partnership with Pococello limoncello and Williams gin. Starting 1 December, you can try three signature cocktails to get you in a festive spirit. I attended the preview last night and thoroughly enjoyed the warm environment, friendly staff and (of course) the delicious cocktails.
By the Fireside
I was greeted by a steaming cup of this delicious cocktail, poured from the back of Pococello’s Limoncello Van. Yes, a cute little yellow truck full of Limoncello, what could be better? This warm cocktail is made from Pococello, Chase Marmalade Vodka, a splash of lemon juice, and Cantina’s homemade marmalade. The flavours starts dry and finishes sweet as you taste the sour lemon, Pococello, punchy vodka and finish with sweeter orange marmalade.
Rolling in the Groves
This cocktail is inspired by the classic “Hanky Panky” cocktail that was created in American bar, Savoy, in 1903 for Sir Charley Hawtrey, an acclaimed English actor of the time. Cantina’s take on the cocktail includes Williams GB Gin, Balthazar Rosé Vermouth, Pococello and Fernet.
Across the Adriatic
This aperitif style cocktail is comprised of equal parts extra dry Williams GB Gin, Pococello, and the fruity, nutty flavuour of Amaro Montenegro. This festive cocktail lets the flavour speak for itself, it’s served simply over ice and garnished with a lemon twist. I loved the combination of gin and slightly sweet winter fruit for a truly unique flavour experience.
