Now that it’s officially Spring, we’re ditching the parkas and the jumpers and opting for looks a little, actually a lot, more stylish. The fashion shows for Spring 2017 told us exactly what was going to be in style, whether it was the Statement Sleeves, as seen on the Dolce and Gabbana runway, or maybe it was the printed boots from Topshop, either way we’re loving this season’s styles.
Earlier this year, Pantone released the color of the year, Greenery. This yellow-green shade was chosen to reflect rejuvenation and revitalisation, as well as a reconnection with nature. Greenery was among 10 shades Pantone released in its Fashion Color Report Spring 2017, which also included shades of pinks, blues, orange, yellow and tans that we have already seen making their way into our closets.
Harper’s Bazaar US also announced yesterday that the official color of this season was pink (go figure). They posted “…Give your workwear wardrobe an on-trend update with structured blush separates like a boxy blazer and cropped trousers….” with an accompanying photo that inspired us to invest in the retro-inspired look.
The sleeves and bright colors aren’t the only things making statements this season. XXXL-sized bags, outrageously chunky earrings, and politically-charged statement tees are impossible to miss. It’s only the first day of Spring but we’ve already got big hopes for these styles this Spring.
