Achieving the perfect vampire look is a great way to celebrate this Halloween season. However, achieving this look may be quite challenging especially if you are doing it for the first time. Well, the good news is we have some great tips. Just gather your supplies, which include white or pale foundation or face paint, black or purple mascara, black eyeliner, red lipstick, fake blood, vampire fangs, white contact lenses and makeup brushes. We’re super impressed if you are doing the contact lenses, that’s brave!

1. Applying Foundation.
The best way to achieve a vampire look is by starting with a light or pale base. You will start by moisturizing your face and then apply white foundation or face paint evenly over your face and neck. You can use a foundation brush or your fingers for this step. However, do not apply this foundation on the areas around your eyes and lips – save these areas for later.
2. Creating Ghoulish Eyes.
For this step, you will need your dark eyeshadow, preferably in black or purple shades. Using a makeup brush, lightly apply the eyeshadow around your eyes, blending well on your eyelid and around lower lashes. This gives your eyes the classic sunken look. Rather than leaving a sharp contrast between the dark eyeshadow and white foundation, use a soft brush to blend well.
3. Creating Dramatic Eyebrows and Eyelashes.
For dramatic eyebrows, it’s fancy dress they can be darker than usual, use a black brow liner to give yourself mega brows. Use a stiff brush in short strokes to fill in between the hairs or simply use an eyebrow pencil to emphasis your eyebrows. For more eye definition carefully apply some eyeliner close to the lashes and smudge for a sexy smoky eye, vampires can be sexy too. If you are skilled at eyeliner, wing out the edges. You can then apply black mascara onto your eyelashes, adding false lashes looks fab for parties and will make your eyes look amazing. This is also the point where you will wear your white contact lenses, just be careful how you do this.
4. Achieving the Perfect Red Lips.
To give your lips a blood-red appearance, find a deep red lipstick and use a lip liner for a good outline before filling in with lots of lipstick for a look to last all night. With your white face and dark red lips, you are already half way there and you can then wear your vampire fangs for when you arrive, maybe keep them in a bag for when you need a cocktail!
5. Applying Fake Blood to the Mouth.
Applying Halloween fake blood makeup on your mouth is the ultimate step for the most real bloody vampire effect. Use a makeup brush to apply some red paint or fake blood to the lips, concentrate on corner of your lips. It is even better if you put some of the blood inside your mouth and let it ooze out slowly when you want to scare your friends and neighbors a little. With this bloody effect, you will look exactly like a vampire.
You can customise your vampire look with face painting or glitter, you might want to draw a spider’s web on your cheek or use glitter over your cheekbones and brow bones, because who doesn’t love wearing glitter for a party! Have fun and remember to cleanse your face thoroughly before bedtime, we don’t want you turning into a pumpkin.
