Martin Scorsese and Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger are the executive producers of a brand new HBO series, Vinyl, which is set in the 1970’s and follows fictional characters in the music industry alongside real musicians.
Nearly a week after legendary David Bowie‘s devastating passing; it has even been confirmed that he will star in the first episode of the new TV show..

Vinyl is the gritty, behind-the-scenes, rock ‘n’ roll series in New York about a struggling music label run by the conniving Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale) and portrays the corrupt industry of sex, drugs and danger. Vinyl follows as Richie struggles with a midlife crisis which threatens his professional and personal life.

“The genesis was an idea that I had years ago,” Jagger says. “I took it to Marty and we first tried to develop it as a movie. We wrote scripts and scripts. When TV started to become respectable, interesting and money-making, we decided to make a TV series out of it.”
