It’s that time of year again, where the best tennis players in the world gather in Wimbledon and duel it out for weeks in hopes of winning the prestigious Championship. This year, the competition will be held from the 27th June – 10th July, and the official schedule will be released on Wimbledon’s website the 19th June.
Excitement is buzzing while The French Open is happening right now, a perfect set up for those to get an idea of how Wimbledon will go. The French Open is one of the four “Grand Slam” competitions, the others being the US Open, Australian Open, and, of course, Wimbledon.
However, Wimbledon has become much more than just about tennis, with celebrities, fans, and curious tourists alike all gathering in one place to watch. The tennis fashion statements are just as important. This year Ralph Lauren exclusively designed the on-court uniforms.
Currently, the French Open is going into its 13th day, where both former 2015 champions Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic have reached the quarter finals. If either of them win this, their chances for back to back Wimbledon repeats are in their favour. However, dreary weather, scheduling nightmares, and more have caused headaches all around at the tournament.
Keep checking in for more updates as Wimbledon gets closer and closer!
