If you’re a yoga lady get ready, 7th of March sees the UK’s tallest sculpture the ArcelorMittal Orbit transformed into a light-filled yoga studio.
Every Saturday morning class-goers will be able to take in the sensational views of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and across 20 miles of London as they practice Hatha yoga at the impressive height of 80m.
We went along to see what it was all about, and if you’re after a yoga class with LA type serenity, this is where you need to go. Whilst all classes will take place in the morning, we were lucky enough to practice in the space at sunset, you can imagine the views outside! The class was challenging yet still managed to be peaceful.
(February 2015): From 7 March, the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the UK’s tallest sculpture, will be transformed into one of the country’s most inspiring yoga studios. Every Saturday morning yoga participants will be able to enjoy epic morning views of the iconic venues of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and across 20 miles of London as they practice Hatha Yoga at heights of 80m.
Hatha yoga focuses on balancing the body’s opposing energies, the positive and the negative, the sun and the moon. It’s all very yin and yang. Instructor Rebecca Spooner is set to lead the classes.
There are advanced sessions from 7am-8.15am, as well as beginner sessions from 8.15am – 9.30am. Each class costs £17.50 and a course of six comes in at £80.00.
