I love this time of year. Sexy clothes and sexier make-up and the season of the multi-palette.
And sometimes in awe when I see a woman get out a single shadow, I think, “How definitive, she has decided that is her shade, her moment. She created it all on her own.” Whereas I love the pampering, the idea that someone else has created perfection for me.
The YSL Dazzling Lights Multi-Use Palette is one such perfection. It’s small, it’s gold, it’s flip top, the size of an iPhone 5 and it’s pure bedazzlement which comes equipped with a mirror, lip, eye and cheek brush. There is a rosy shimmer pink highlighter, it makes the whole face seem bathed in a Hollywood movie glow. It is made with ultra-fine platinum pearls so it makes the cheeks look like they are a winter wonderland of rosy frosty illumination. The dazzling eyeshadows are season must-haves. There is a silver grey that has a hint of pale turquoise, it glides on with a shimmer and it makes you think of seventies fashion icons. It is the new way to do blue, which is not really blue at all. There is a champagne gold and a rose champagne, all with bedazzlement and for the smoky eye, there is a purplish brownish gorgeousness. The lip colours are beautifully satiny more than a gloss but not at all opaque. There is a light rose which is flattering to all skin tones and a deep red which you can layer to be as bright or as subtle as you feel.
I have used it every day since I have had it. It really is beyond lovely and beyond functional, everything is in there that you need to go from day to night to morning again. (£43)
