The charity catwalk show is set to return to the Cannes Film Festival line-up in 2013. This year’s theme, surrounding the idea of the 20th anniversary of amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS gala, is all about gold.

Unlike 2012’s flat black theme, this year is sparkle-inspired by the late founding international chairman of amfAR, Elizabeth Taylor, and it’s supposed to be more extravagant, too.
“I picked the gold theme because gold is extraordinary. Since it’s the 20th year of this event, I thought people should walk away with an incredible memory,” Carine Roitfeld said. “For me, this is really a tribute to Elizabeth Taylor. When you think of her in Cleopatra, you have this very powerful image of gold and beauty.”
Organized again by Roitfeld and Naomi Campbell, the event is set to showcase designers, such as Christian Dior, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Prada, Givenchy, Lanvin, Marchesa, Giorgio Armani, Alexander Wang and Versace. Not to mention, 40 of the industry’s leading models are supposed to take part in the catwalk held at the famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes.
Cannes Film Festival is from 15 – 26 May.
